Apples Apples and more Apples

I love this time of the year. Visits to the apple orchard are always fun! Fresh cider and donuts, and of course, a freshly picked apple.....juicy and crisp!
When the weather is cooler, there's nothing better than a warm apple crisp topped w/ fresh whipped cream or ice cream. Mmmm Mmmm!
Tonya of Backporch Pickins thinks so too, and she was happy to share her recipe~

~Apple Crisp~

4 cups of slice pared tart apples (about 4 medium apples)
2/3 to 3/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1/2 cup All-purpose flour
1/2 cup of oats (oatmeal)
3/4 tsp. of Cinnamon
3/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1/3 cup of Butter or Margarine (softened)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease square pan 8 x 8 x 2 inches.
Place apple slices in pan. Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly. Sprinkle over apples.

Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping
is golden brown. Serve warm and, if desired, serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

  1. Yummy! And such a beautiful photo.

I will make this recipe using soy or rice flour, because my husband cannot eat wheat flours. I know it will be scrumptious! Thank you for reminding me of it.
