Primitive Pride!

Well so far its been a pretty busy year for our TDIPT ladies, there has been new jobs and moves, remodeling and redoings, trips to foreign countries and interstate traveling to rescue dogs, and even dealing with feline dental proceedures! Like everyone else we lead busy lives with changes always happening BUT one thing is always a constant and that is when you visit the TDIPT Mercantile, you'll find wonderful, original, prim, whimsical and primitive folk art. Don't just take my word for it - check out some of the work selected by the editors of the mentioned magazines to be in their Spring/Summer issues: Ivonne Brown of The Crackling Crows has an aritcle and pic in the Summer issue of Folk Magazine. You must pick up this magazine and see first hand and up close her article and work.
Pam Gagliardi of Winding Vines Designs is in issue IV, March/April of Folk Magazine with her adorable peapod pincushion on the top row no less! They were inspired by the peas she grows in her garden. These are a velvet peapod with felted peas. So precious!
And as you can see our Karen Brady of Brady Bears also on the top row has one of her remarkable giraffes featured in that issue as well. Karen is also featured in the Spring/Summer issue of Prims Magazine
and althoug she is known throughout the world for her stuffed beauties she also makes paper clay figures as well, this is a picture of some of those featured in the magazine. They are hand molded with vintage blocks and all are one of a kind.
and speaking of worldwide, Karen is featured in a German magazine!!! Teddy and Company, http://www.teddymagazin.de/
There are so many beautiful pics of her work in this issue! And speaking of magazines our talented TDIPT sister, Kimber Van Heukelom of Heirlooms by Ashton House, is an editor for Primitive Quilts. Here is a pic of their Spring issue cover.
http://www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com/aboutus.html is the address to purchase this issue or future ones. Its a must have magazine for sure! Check these magazines to see more of these talented ladies work and articles and as always check out the TDIPT Mercantile for new items from all our gals. It is updated on the 1st and the 15th! A special shout out to our Sue Nagle of Paint in Tyme, she recently created this glorious bird painting for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. That's pretty special so Congrats to you Sue! Take a look at this beauty.
Ok thats enough gushing for now and I gotta tell ya I'm as proud as that danged peacock Sue painted to be a part of this group! And finally, have a safe Memorial Day. Our thoughts and prayers are with our brave soldiers who make our freedome possible.
